Echoing the tradition of exquisitely ornamented manuscript pages, this original geometric composition incorporates square and triangular repeats of a classic Mamluk pattern.
The biomorphic tezhib border provides sanctuary for the pattern within, while simultaneously linking it to the larger world beyond.
Original Work
- Sentinel was rendered with handmade watercolour paints by Beam Paints on animal-free Fabriano watercolour paper. The work measures 12" × 18", is custom framed under UV-preservation glass, and available for acquisition at $4,000.
