The Trefoil and The Crown 2023
In this novel analysis of the twelvefold star sequence from the fountain floor in Cairo, the pattern emerges from the grid with the proportions of the woven band built directly into its structure.
This pattern is rare in that the interstitial stars are also twelvefold instead of the usual interstitial pentagrams, leaving a trefoil (three-leaved) space in between, which in turn suggests the development of a crown-shaped cap to the petal of the rosette.
Original Work
- The Trefoil and The Crown was rendered with handmade watercolour paints on animal-free Fabriano archival paper. The work measures 10" × 16" (25.40 cm × 40.64 cm), is framed, and available for acquisition at $900.
